Identifying Your Toyota Filter Housing

Toyota generally uses two main styles of filter housings, which depend on your engine size:

• The 1.8L Housing: Commonly found on 1.3L and 1.8L 4-cylinder engines, this version is typically made of plastic. It does not feature a center drain valve.
• The 2.5L - 5.7L Housing: Used on larger engines (2.5L and 2.7L 4-cylinders, 3.5L and 4.0L 6-cylinders, plus 4.6L and 5.7L V8s), this housing can be either metal or plastic.
