Many modern Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles use a cartridge-style oil filter system rather than a traditional spin-on filter. However, the housing of these cartridge filters is often made of plastic or lightweight aluminum that can become incredibly tight due to heat cycles, or the dreaded impact-wrench over-tightening. Standard universal wrenches often slip, round off the flutes, or crack the housing. Our wrench is CNC-machined to a 0.001” tolerance, ensuring a perfect, non-slip fit that protects your expensive filter housing.

This wrench is specifically designed for the 64.3mm 14-flute oil filter system found on most Toyota 4, 6, and 8-cylinder engines. This includes popular models like the Camry, RAV4, Tacoma, Tundra, Highlander, and 4Runner, as well as Lexus ES, RX, and GX models.

Note: Our machining tolerance is within +/- 0.001", but you may get a slightly different measurement from 64.3mm. This is because we have sized the internal diameter of the wrench to account for thermal expansion and the best fit across a variety of filters.

Most big-box wrenches are cast from cheap, brittle aluminum or stamped steel. Apply lots of torque, and they're known to flex or break. Our wrenches are made in the USA from professional-grade 6061 T6 aluminum with a high-strength 7075 T6 drive hub. If you're applying lots of force or using a breaker bar, you need a professional-grade oil filter wrench. If your wrench has any slop or play in it, a breaker bar will instantly round off the housing or shatter a cheap tool.

Note: We recommend using a 24mm or 15/16" socket on the hex part of the wrench when you're using it with a breaker bar - this decreases the chance of deforming the internal 3/8" drive.

Our replaceable 7075 T6 aluminum drive hub allows the wrench to be operated using a 3/8" ratchet or with a 24mm / 15/16" socket or wrench:

• 3/8” Square Drive: Perfect for using a ratchet or a torque wrench during installation.
• 24mm (15/16”) Hex Drive: We highly recommend using a 24mm socket when removing filters. A 3/8" torque wrench can be used when re-installing the filter to the proper torque spec.
